NAME: Prarra, daughter of Rhaow. Youngling of Clan Hhhssk, Twelfth Clan of Rrht.
CANON: Voltron: Legendary Defender
POINT IN CANON: Episode 1 of Season 1, between the introduction and the beginning of the action
AGE: 15
APPEARANCE: Approximately 5 feet tall, extremely slender and wiry build, it's clear that her ancestors were feline. She has large, pointed feline ears, a rounded face caught somewhere between cat and human, with large feline eyes. Her mouth contains three rows of teeth which shed constantly like a shark's as well as a cat's rough-textured tongue. The underside of her nose is darkened compared with the rest of her face, and a very thin, downy fur arches along her cheeks. Her hair is cropped fairly short and is fine in texture, a sandy pale brown with reddish highlights in the sun. Her hands are calloused on the palm and the pads of her fingers, and her nails cover retractable claws. Her bare feet are elongated and she tends to walk on the balls of her feet, which are also thickly calloused. While she does not have whiskers, the fine fur takes the place of human body hair and thickens to something like a ridge down her spine to the base of her tail. The tail, some four feet long, is as slender as she is, and the last two feet of it are prehensile. Her legs are primarily human, but because her feet are elongated and she walks slightly crouched and on the balls of her feet, tend to give the impression of a more feline composition. She bears the scars and burns of a lifetime in captivity.

CANON HISTORY: Originally from a binary star system thousands of lightyears from Earth, Prarra comes from the planet of Rrht, inhabited by culture of felinid desert nomads. Their culture is heavily based around survival and strength of character. Each clan focuses on a different aspect or interpretation of the survival edict, but the Hhhssk Clan is one of hunters. Their world was not strong in interstellar technology - they felt no need to leave the planet. Unfortunately this made them vulnerable to attack. In the universe at large was a growing threat, one that had been building for thousands of years: the Galra Empire. Led by Emperor Zarkon and his witch Haggar, the Empire conquered system after system, planet after planet, destroying civilizations and enslaving populaces in the hunt for a mysterious super warrior called Voltron. Rrht did not have any current knowledge of the warrior, only legends, but that didn't stop the Galra from hunting down and killing or enslaving as many of the clans as possible. One by one word came that the clans were wiped out. Survivors came straggling in to the protection of the Hhhssk. But in the end they were no match for the superior technology and numbers of the Galra forces. Little more than a kit, perhaps six years old, Prarra was captured along with about fifty of her clan and taken to the Galra warships. There they were divided among the other prisoners and Prarra spent roughly ten years trying to find ways to live and fight back against her oppressors. One by one the other members of her clan diminished and vanished into the bowels of the ship. When she was ten she began being thrown into the Arena to fight. At first it was against younger prisoners, but as she grew and kept surviving, her opponents became harder and harder. She suffered punishment for her escape attempts and little revolutions, resulting in burns about her neck, forearms, and thighs as well as in rings along her tail. She suffered electrocution, bites, claws, poisons, weapon injuries - anything one might encounter in a gladiatorial arena against other alien species. During her fifteenth year, a new set of prisoners was brought in. This was not unusual, but what became of them was. One of them, hungry for blood, injured his companion and rose through the ranks of the gladiators to become Champion of the Arena. (This would be Takashi Shirogane, astronaut pilot from Earth who later became the Black Paladin of Voltron.) Prarra did not have to face him at first - she was considered to be too young and small to make much of an interesting fight with the big human. But during that time, there was a period where the Galra kept pushing him and pushing him and sending more and more opponents into the ring to see if they could find his weak point, and finally they chose to send Prarra in after he had fought three battles in a row. Prarra was fast, lithe, and fought hard. But she couldn't beat him. She died on his sword.
CANON PERSONALITY:
Prarra has been forced to grow up and look out for herself very, very quickly. She's learned that most care is either a trick, or it won't last. It doesn't pay to be friendly and helpful. Everybody is taken away sooner or later. Lasting friendships don't happen. If she wants to protect herself, she needs to not make friends, only allies.
